OSINT & Person Tracing
Locating individuals, verifying identities, and mapping digital footprints using open-source intelligence.
Whether you need to locate a missing person, trace an heir, or verify someone's identity, we research lawful sources to establish verifiable facts. NCRB uses open-source intelligence (OSINT): research into publicly and lawfully accessible sources. We connect data points across public registries, social media platforms, and specialist databases to build the most complete picture the available sources allow.
We access public registries, commercial databases, social media platforms, archived web content, and specialized search tools.
Person tracing is among the most common applications. Whether you need to locate an individual for a legitimate purpose, verify someone's identity and background, or assess the person behind an anonymous online account, we report verified findings and confidence levels within agreed timelines.
Every investigation is conducted within strict legal boundaries. We do not use pretexting, social engineering, or unauthorized access. Our methods are transparent, documented, and defensible.

Questions about this service
What is an OSINT investigation?
OSINT stands for open-source intelligence: research in public and lawfully accessible sources such as registries, social media, archived web pages, domain data, and specialist databases. NCRB combines those sources into a verified, documented picture of a person, organization, or online identity. We do not use pretexting, hacking, or unauthorized access.
Is an investigation agency allowed to trace or investigate someone?
Yes, provided there is a legitimate interest and the investigation is proportionate. NCRB holds a Wpbr licence (POB 1737) from the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security and works under the GDPR and the Dutch privacy code of conduct for investigation agencies. We refuse requests without a legitimate purpose, such as locating someone who deliberately avoids contact.
Who does NCRB conduct OSINT and person research for?
Law firms (fact-finding, opposing parties, witnesses), insurers, insolvency trustees, HR and compliance (screening), debt collection (locating debtors), and private clients with a legitimate interest, for example heirs, catfishing, or online threats. We work from the Netherlands for clients in more than twenty countries.
What do I receive after an OSINT investigation?
A structured report with the findings, a source reference and timestamp per fact, screenshots with metadata, a confidence rating, and a note on the method. The report is designed for use by your lawyer, claims department, or management.
Can NCRB verify an online identity or fake profile?
Yes. We investigate whether a profile, name, photo, or company is genuine: image research, domain and registry analysis, cross-links between accounts, and digital traces. This is used in catfishing, business counterparties, online threats, and suspicious contacts via WhatsApp or social media.
What does an OSINT investigation cost?
There is no standard rate. The price follows from the sharpness of the question, the number of sources and countries, urgency, and reporting depth. The first conversation and a short feasibility check are free; after that you receive a scope and a fixed price or cost ceiling up front. A targeted identity check is more compact than a full person investigation with network mapping.
